Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re going to call us in for a training or team building day, you’ll have plenty of questions to ask. We’ll be happy to answer everything...or you might find what you’re looking for here.
Questions about...Vocal Health and Vocal Power Training:
Will I have to sing in the training session?
We use vocal exercises that are used by singing coaches, but there’s no actual singing in these sessions. You’ll be making a lot of noise though - but come on, that’s only to be expected in a vocal session!
Will I have to stand up in front of people?
Our training gets you out of your comfort zone – but we do it comfortably! We dedicate the day to developing you (yes, you) so individual work is essential. Don’t panic though, you’re in very safe hands!
Do I need to be musical?
Not one bit!
Questions about...Team Building:
How do you get everyone to join in on the day?
There’ll always be a few who don’t want to take part, but we have our ways! It’s ok, we won’t victimise anyone - but we will help them to step out of their shell and get the most from the experience.
Do you have to be a good singer?
NO!!!! It’s not about singing ability, it’s about enjoying the day and getting involved and working with your team. Naturally some people will be better singers than others, but that’s why it’s important to work together. That’s when the magic happens!
What kind of songs do you use?
We do motivational, fun and upbeat songs, guaranteed to get your toes tapping! That’s anything from modern pop to classic rock, or maybe a bit of soul or Motown.
Questions about...The Inspire Choir:
Do I have to read music?
No! All our harmonies are recorded and they’re available online so you can download them and learn them by ear. No sheet music to be seen!
Do you have to be a good singer?
NO!!!! Just the same as our team building days, it’s not about finding an X Factor winner! It’s all about pitching in, having fun and learning to work with colleagues. Of course your choir will have its stars, but the best results will come when people of all abilities learn to sing (and work) together.
Will I have to sing on my own?
Only if you want to! Some of our arrangements have solo sections for people who really want to stretch themselves.
How many people do we need in the choir?
Our Inspire Choirs vary in size, but as a rule of thumb you need at least 15 people to make some beautiful noise!
How often will we get together for choir sessions?
Most of our choirs meet once a week or once a fortnight. We try to keep to regular days and times so managers can arrange cover for choir members.
When do sessions happen?
As it’s a staff training exercise, we recommend that it happens during the day – but we can deliver evening sessions, it’s really up to you. Many companies run sessions during the lunch hour so people go back to work refreshed.
